2011_08_01 Taking the Turbo Engine Off

Finally I prepared to take off the engine from my Turbo one.
It took about three hours to do this work at service with some help.

Unpluging all the wiring and hoses

Cleaned gearbox

Cleaned engine
Now is the time to take off the head and get it to a service for a shim, because a gasket is going to be changed. Also I am planning to get the block checked and cleaned.

2011_08_05 Changing Rear Brakes

Before going to our local race track I decided to change my rear brakes.
My old calipers were completely stuck, brake discs very rusty and poor brake pads.
The new (From MR2 turbo) were much better all around and there was also braided brake lines.
Here you can see some photos:

 Now braking effectiveness is much better, but I still need to change front calipers, because they are still old and hardly working.

2011 07 16: Replacing front suspension

My suspension is really tired so I decided to put it from MR2 turbo. Firstly, front. It took about 6-7 hours to replace it in a yard and with a couple of tools. I took it off together with a brake discs, because they are much better and also changed brake pads. Also tubby has adjustable caster arms, so now steering wheel is more responsive, but it became harder to turn (with no power steering). And here are some photos from work.

Unscrew wishbone
Unscrew strut and brake caliper
Unscrew track rod end
Unscrew lower arm (I also needed to change a holder (4 bolts)
Removed front suspension from turbo

Toyota MR2 autocrossing onboard

A great weekend on June 26 and 3rd place overall.
Mods: Koni yellow + Weitec springs + BFG Profiler 205/40 R17 tyres.
This was my first run. Unfortunately I left my camera turned on and battery died so I could't make a video of other runs.

2011 06 16: Modlist so far

For now, the modlist(that will be in my Pinkie) is:

Engine (3S-GTE rev1):
Blitz Access ECU;
Uprated alluminum intercooler;
ARP head studs;
Samco hose kit for cooling system from rev2;
Denso Iridium IK22 spark plugs;

Exhaust:
De-Cat downpipe;
Custom straight freeflow exhaust;

Intake:
Green air filter;

Suspension/Brakes:
Ohlins schocks with weitec lowering springs;
Braided brake hoses;

Exterior:
Lenso RS5 17x7 +35
Rev3 JDM rear lights;
Painted in custom Pink/Red with black top parts;

Misc:
Blitz turbo timer;
Blitz turbo boost gauge;

      I am planning to go with about 1- 1.2 bar of boost, when metal head gasket is installed, so I hope I will reach about 260-280hp. Unfortunately, I still don't know if Turbo (CT26) is in good condition.

It will look really differentat the end of a project

Preparing for a swap

The black MR2 Turbo came with a following mods:
Blitz Access ECU;
Ohlins adjustable schocks;
Braided brake lines (unfortunately one is standard);
Uprated intercooler;
Lenso RS5 17x7 wheels with a good tires;
Apiro air filter (probably peace of sh... and will be replace with my current Green);

And the bad things also:
Alternator was not working, but not it's repaired;
Head gasket is blow or head is broken, this is the biggest problem;

Repairing of alternator:
Celica 7gen on left and MR2 on right
AEM pulley from Celica alternator
 Is done and working now. I changed diode pack.
Of course, I will not leave it a stock, so before I change an engine, I need some things :)
Now I have:
Blitz turbo timer

Blitz boost gauge
De-cat downpipe (no name)
Main things to buy left:
Metal head gasket;
Timing belt (BluePrint bought);
Spark plugs (ordered already Denso Iridium IK22);
Manual boost controller(not electronic because of lack of money);
Prothane suspension bushing kit;

Come back later for next parts of a project :)

Pinkie is changing appearence

Here is a couple of photos of how Pinkie looks now(changed wheels, bonnet, rear engine cover, rear trunk with spoiler. Also mudflaps fitted and front lip. For me, it looks much better now :)

Big changes! "Pinkie" is preparing to become Turbo!

2011 04 21 - the date, my dream came true. The MR2 Turbo GT JDM came from UK to me. After about a year of searching the ebay and etc. finally I managed to buy that car. As I was buying just for a turbo swap into my Pinkie, I wasn't looking at any car mods or something. There was only an engine that was important for me. But when it came to me, I was really glad with what I've found. The chassis is in perfect condition, no rust at all, engine has no harmful mechanical sounds.
Here is a couple of photo and all other info you can find HERE.

Toyota MR2 SW20 3S-GE to 3S-GE (from 5gen Celica) swap

It was time for me to change an engine because an old one was consuming oil really fast... I have done some intake manifold and valves cover polishing to look it better. I wanted to share some photos of work with all of you. Here they are:
